CARNEGIE HARRIERS DEVILLA FOREST TRAIL RACES
2026 RACE INFORMATION

RACE DATE and TIMES

We are pleased to announce that the Devilla Forest Trail Races will return for 2026 on Sunday 8th February 2026.  We will, again, be holding two races of approximately 15k (9 miles) and 5k (3.1 miles) respectively with the 15k starting at 11:00 am and the 5k starting at approximately 11:10 am. Both will be run under UK Athletics Rules and Licences from Scottish Athletics.

RACE START POINTS:

New for 2026, the start and finish lines for both races will be located just behind the Recreation Block and will be clearly marked. Please be ready to assemble 10 minutes before your start time for your race briefing.

THE COURSES

Both races start and finish in the grounds of the Scottish Police College at Tulliallan, Kincardine, FK10 4BE but the majority of both routes is within Devilla Forest itself. Full details, including route maps can be found below. The routes are best suited to trail shoes as underfoot conditions can vary considerably, especially on the 15k route. Ordinary trainers would be okay in dry conditions but not spikes.

Both routes will be marshalled and well-marked at all junctions. The safety of all is paramount and competitors must follow the instructions of the marshals. As Devilla Forest is a working forest any work taking place may affect parts of the race routes. In the event that beforehand, or even on race day itself, we need to amend either or both routes, for example if adversely affected by weather or underfoot conditions, any changes will be notified to entrants as soon as known. Please check our website (https://carnegie-harriers.co.uk/) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/carnegieharriers) for the latest information.

Dogs are not permitted in either race.

ENTRIES

The races are strictly pre-entry only through EntryCentral. There are no entries on the day.

The entry fees are £20.00 (£22.00 for non-SA members) for the 15k and £12.00 (£14.00 for non-SA members) for the 5k. Runners must be at least 17 years old to enter the 15k race and at least 13 years old to enter the 5k race, in accordance with UKA Rules.

You can find details of our race privacy notice and race terms and conditions and further information on the events on our website (https://www.carnegie-harriers.co.uk/events-calendar/).

On receiving an email to confirm their entry to the race, competitors should check that their entry details are correct. The swapping of numbers is not permitted.

REFUNDS

We do not offer refunds to entrants who are no longer able to run. However, transfers (including between races) will be possible up to Wednesday 4th February 2026.

Entry fees (less the EntryCentral admin fee) will only be refunded if the races are completely cancelled for 2026. There will be no deferrals.

RACE LIMITS

There are race limits of 600 runners for the 15k and 200 runners for the 5k. Entries will close once the race limits are reached.

REGISTRATION

Chip timing is being provided by Perfect Timing. Race numbers (which include timing chips) must be collected from 9.00 am on the day from the Games Hall within the Recreation Block at the Scottish Police College.

PARKING

There is ample car parking within the grounds of the Scottish Police College. Anyone attending the race (runners or supporters) must only enter the Police College by the main entrance and follow the marshals’ directions. They should not follow any Sat Nav directions through Devilla Forest as these routes are unsuitable for cars and upset local residents.

TOILETS and CHANGING FACILITIES

Changing, showering and toilet facilities are available at the Recreation Hall.

The organisers accept no responsibility for the loss of clothing or equipment and it is the responsibility of runners to make sure they have all their belongings before leaving the race venue.

REFRESHMENTS

There will be a water station at 7k in the 15k race and water and post-race snacks will be available at the finish for runners.

The Copper Lounge, located within the Recreation Block will be open to runners and supporters from 9.00am until 2.00pm, serving hot and cold drinks and a variety of snacks.

GREEN CREDENTIALS

Please help us to reduce the impact our events have on the environment by bringing your own water / fluid bottle and by considering car sharing or using public transport (the Police College is within easy walking distance of a main bus route).

CHARITY DONATIONS

A donation will be made to Ochils Mountain Rescue Team who provide first aid cover for the event.

RACE MEMENTOS and PRIZES

All finishers will receive a bespoke medal.

We have an extensive range of prizes in all age categories for both races. Prizes will be allocated strictly in age categories.

Once again, we are very fortunate to be supported by Run4It, Edinburgh. All entrants to both the 15K and 5K will receive a Run4It discount voucher.  Please check out their website: www.run4it.com

RESULTS

Both races are chip timed by Perfect Timing Scotland and the full race results will be available on the Carnegie Harriers (www.carnegie-harriers.co.uk) and Perfect Timing Scotland (Results – Perfect Timing) websites shortly after the event finishes. Runners who have provided a valid mobile number will also receive a text message with details of their time within about 5 minutes of finishing.
