Devilla Forest Races – Sunday 18th February
Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help out on the day. We’ve sent out an email with a provisional list of duties on the day but will confirm these nearer the time. For those members wanting to run in either race, if you have not already done so, please can you add
your name to the waiting list on EntryCentral, by Thursday 8th February so that we issue an invite to sign up.
Meanwhile a second recce of the route(s) will take place on Sunday 4th February. This is a great opportunity for runners of all abilities to try out, and familiarise themselves with, the race routes, whether running or marshalling on the day, or just looking for a gentle Sunday run. We intend to recce the full route of the Devilla Forest 15K, but there are options for either a 10K run (missing out the Peppermill Dam loop) or the 5K route. Although we have Harriers scheduled for action at Kilmarnock on Saturday or Forfar on Sunday, we hope a few of you will make the effort to head along to Devilla.
Those wishing to car share from Dunfermline please meet at Pittencrieff Park car park at 9.00am. If going direct park at Kirk Brae, not Church Street as it is a Sunday, and meet at the race start ready to run at 9.30. Parking map as follows: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/idld.srf?x=293275&y=687995&z=110&sv=293275,687995&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=idld.srf&searchp=s.srf&dn=512&ax=293275&ay=687995&lm=0
A further run is pencilled in for Sunday 11th February but will be confirmed nearer the time. With the nights out planned for the previous night, there might not be too many takers.
