With the festive period rapidly approaching, there are several Christmas themed events if you want to keep the legs working over this time. A couple which may be of interest to our members are the Pitreavie Jingle Bell 5k, and the Crossgates Boxing Day Paarlauf.
The Jingle Bell 5k is organised by our neighbours at Pitreavie AAC, and utilises a 5k route around the Pitreavie playing fields, the location of many of our summer training sessions. The race will take place on Sunday 17th Dec (a 2pm start, so no need to worry about your hangover from the Carnegie Christmas night out), and sign-up is via Entry Central. All entrants receive a Santa hat, which ideally should be worn during the race!! The link for entry is: http://www.entrycentral.com/PitreavieJingleBell
Meanwhile, the Boxing Day Paarlauf takes place (unsurprisingly) on Tuesday 26th Dec. Organised by ex-member Ian Johnstone, this unique race has always been a popular and fun event on the calendar, and sees teams of 2 runners compete around a ‘figure of 8’ loop. With 16 Carnegies already entered, this is looking like another great year for this event. Please refer to the post on the Facebook Chat Group for further details, and any runners looking to enter should either contact Ian direct, or speak to Steven Honeyman, who will pass their details on.
This race looks great.
