By November 7, 2017Blog

The next instalment of Cross Country fun is just around the corner (and along the A92 a wee bit!). The National Short Cross Country Championships take place this coming Saturday (11th ) at Kirkcaldy High School, Dunnikier Way, Kirkcaldy, KY1 3LR.

The Men’s race starts at 1:05pm. The race is 4000m long taking in two laps of a grass course. I’ve attached a course map and the Information from the SAL website for Info. If you want to arrive in time to see the ladies racing, they start at 12:40pm.

Here is a link to the SAL page with all the info on it –

Karen and myself will pick up the numbers at declaration on arrival and distribute when you all turn up. We are heading through early and partaking in Kirkcaldy parkrun in the morning so should be on site and have the tent up all ready for you.

Here’s is a list of the men entered for purposes of lift sharing, 14 in total –

Kevin Davie; Paul Love; David Clark; Barry Davie; Brian Miller; Gordon Barrie; Alan Murray; Andrew Sim; Chris Stephenson; Steve Adam; Neil McLure; John Hynd; Stephen Greer; Gordon Somerville.

If you want to tie in with the ladies, here are their entries(8) –

Kirsty Baird; Frances Beattie; Zuleika Brett; Charlotte Briggs; Karen Forsyth; Robyn Morrocco; Helena Sim; Jennifer Smith.

Officials and Coach Parking only will be permitted within the school premises.

All other vehicles must park at the NHS Car Park off Whyteman’s Brae – Please park responsibly (this is only a 5 minute walk).

Declarations will take place within the Kirkcaldy High School, Karen and myself will take care of this.

Masters Athletes will be given a number for their front and an Age Banding (40, 50 or 60) for their back, make sure either Karen or myself remember to give you a second number for your back if it applies. Remember and bring pins with you.

Results are by chip timing. If an athlete doesn’t have a chip on their shoe they won’t be in the results. NO CHIP. NO RESULT.

Disposable CHIPS will be in use at this event, therefore there is no requirement to return this at the end of the race.

Changing: There will be Changing and Shower facilities available within Kirkcaldy High School. Please come ready to run.

Toilets: There are toilet facilities available within the school.

Catering: Available within the School Canteen – Please remember to dispose of all litter correctly.

See you all on Saturday
