Carnegie Training Resumes

Carnegie Harriers were absolutely delighted this evening (01/09) to welcome back members to our formal training sessions. Like all clubs up and down the country, CH suspended training back in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic and have been following updated advice since lockdown restrictions started to ease, with the aim to get members back training when safe to do so. The popular club virtual Grand Prix had helped keep members in condition throughout the last 6 months, but what members really wanted was a return to training.

Following updated SA advice, the club decided to create a number of training bubbles that would follow the pre-set club training plans, training at various venues throughout Dunfermline. Each bubble had a designated bubble lead and deputy to help manage the bubble group, ensuring as safe a return to training was possible.

First session back was an easy one, 26 minute hill reps and it was great to see 6 bubbles with 40 members taking part in these first sessions. We look forward to more members joining bubbles as the weeks and months progress.

Well done to all those who attended tonight and thanks the the CH committee for pulling the return to training plan together and for the bubble leads for ensuring our first night back went smoothly and was a great success.

We hope that the return to training will help members regain lost motivation and improve their mental and physical well being, as we all try and get back to some sort of normality after a tough 6 months!
